Hello December!

Hello everyone and hello December!  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday.  We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner over at my sister and brother-in-law's home - an annual family tradition.  Our side of the family and my brother-in-law's family get together every Thanksgiving (12 years and counting since they were married).  As always, we had a blast talking, eating, and playing charades!  There were 20 of us gathered around the dinner table(s) this year.

This is where we ate!  Isn't their dining room/home beautiful?!  My sister kept the table decor simple with fall flowers and candlelight.

There are so many architectural elements to adore throughout their new home - like the wainscoting, tray ceilings, built-ins, and moldings.  I hope to share more of their beautiful home with you going forward, as permitted. :)

Now that Thanksgiving is over, our full attention turns to everything December.  This month is very special in our household.  We kick things off by celebrating my husband's birthday, which is today!  In a couple weeks, my oldest son also celebrates his birthday.  He made us parents nearly eleven years ago, which is the greatest blessing of our lives.  It's crazy how quickly time passes, especially when you witness your children growing older in the blink of an eye.  And of course, December also means Christmas is in the air...

My boys (who are currently 7 and 10) absolutely LOVE the holidays.  We try to make our home the warmest and merriest place for them to enjoy the season.  They get so excited when our home gets the Christmas treatment!  Their excitement is magical, and makes the entire season very special.

The holiday decorating is in full swing around here with the exception of the tree.  We purchase a fresh tree every year, and plan to do so this week.  We actually tried to buy a tree the day after Thanksgiving, but it wasn't available yet?!  Stay tuned for a tour of our home decked for the holidays in coming weeks. :)
