Summer Breakin' 2014: Week 3 Recap

Happy Saturday!  I hope you're enjoying a great weekend so far.  I know I sound like a broken record, but I really can't believe how quickly the summer is going!  It's been great having the kids home from school, despite dealing with their spats and such. :)  There is no worrying about getting homework done, no adhering to a set schedule, no rushing out the door in the morning, etc.  Our summer routine entails "going with the flow" week-by-week!

Contrary to natural thought, it is actually LESS stressful to NOT be so scheduled or structured in the summer months.  (Disclaimer: For those who work outside the home, this wouldn't apply.)   The kids are only in a couple camps this summer (plus their sports activities).  I purposely under-schedule their summers to allow downtime and free play - which I feel is important for their growth and creativity.

Here's a photo recap of our third week of summer break:

Lucas loves his new sport, tennis!

Waiting for his brother to finish his tennis lessons.

Outdoor soccer in the neighbor's backyard on the 4th of July.

Excited to watch the fireworks!

Morning snuggles after a fun-filled 4th of July!

Tasting his brother's clam chowder apparently requires being spoon-fed?!
